La Salle College's Educational Curricula

The educational curricula of La Salle College is developed based on the findings of the comprehensive Needs Assessment on Kenyan Higher Education conducted from May to August 2023.  The Needs Assessment established that there is a high concentration of programs in Social Sciences. Applied Sciences and other STEM programs account for only 16% of all programs offered. This is particularly attributed to the limited number of universities and TVETs offering STEM-related courses, partially due to the heavy cost of investment in resources needed to train quality graduates at diploma and degree level.

The findings of the Needs Assessment, therefore, served as a foundation for enhancing further or developing three key areas of study:

An Impressive Center for Teacher Preparation

As has been our Lasallian strength since the founding of CTIE in 1992, La Salle College will have a strong School of Education to prepare the next generation teachers who will be critical thinkers, transformative and change-makers.

A Center for Responding to Modern Science Matters

We envision that La Salle College will take a lead role in preparing scientists to confront the causes of and solutions to the negative impact of climate change. Similarly, in an era where saving our mother Earth matters, our future graduates will be at the forefront of saving the environment.

A Hub for Computer Information Technology (CIT)

Nairobi is a hub for business and communication. Amazon, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Oracle are among the international companies with large offices in Kenya.  Formed in 1997, Safaricom is a telecommunication giant, currently employing well over 6,000 people with a subscriber base of 47 million Kenyans.  All these companies are seeking well-educated, well-trained, well-motivated men and women of integrity to become the employees and leaders of tomorrow. The proposed La Salle College will play a key role in addressing these urgent CIT needs.
